Jurnal Pendidikan Islam (JPI) is a fully open-access journal. There are no paywalls or reader subscription fees for online content. To sustain editorial and publishing operations, JPI relies on the following revenue sources:

  1. Article Processing Charges (APC).
An APC is charged only upon acceptance of a manuscript. The current rate and payment instructions are listed on the journal’s APC page. Waivers/discounts are available under the journal’s Waiver Policy (e.g., for LIC/LMIC authors or unfunded research).

  2. Institutional support (Faculty/University).
The host institution provides in-kind and/or budgetary support (e.g., editorial office operations, platform/IT, administrative services).

  3. Print subscriptions.
A limited print run may be offered to libraries or individuals; proceeds are used to cover print production and postage.

  4. Donations/Grants.
Occasional sponsorships or grants may support specific improvements (e.g., platform upgrades, metadata enrichment). Any such support does not influence editorial decisions.

Use of funds. Revenue is used to cover: manuscript management (OJS hosting/maintenance), Crossref DOI registration, long-term archiving (e.g., PKP PN/LOCKSS), plagiarism screening, copyediting/typesetting, website upkeep, indexing/metadata deposits, limited print production, and general editorial administration.

Advertising & commercial influence. JPI does not accept advertising and does not run sponsored content that could compromise editorial independence. There is no fast-track or pay-to-publish option; editors/reviewers are not compensated per acceptance.

Editorial independence. Editorial and peer-review decisions are based solely on scholarly merit and are independent of APC payments, institutional support, or any revenue source. Waiver requests and payment status are handled administratively and are not visible to editors/reviewers.
