Rakyat Indonesia mengharapkan pimpinan yang mempunyai karakter baik dan kuat agar dapat mewujudkan cita-cita hidup bernegara Indonesia yakni masyarakat yang sejahtera, adil dan makmur. Bercermin pada karakter para pemimpin-pemimpin bangsa Indonesia seperti ditulis dalam buku tematik kelas 4 SD/MI, bangsa Indonesia akan dapat bangkit kembali untuk mewujudkan kejayaan, kemakmuran yang pernah dirasakan pada mas a lampau. Menjunjung nilai kejujuran, kepercayaan, pengabdian, keberanian sebagaimana ditunjukkan pemimpin Indonesia harus menjadi karakter setiap Warga Negara Indonesia. Karakter tersebut sangat diperlukan untuk mewujudkan Indonesia yang lebih baik.
